On 27 November 2025, Professor Luca Taschini took part in a high-profile forum hosted by Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment on 'Taiwan’s Net-Zero Transition and Carbon Pricing Governance: New Policy Thinking under Geopolitical Shifts'.

The event brought together domestic and international experts to discuss how carbon pricing and carbon border adjustment mechanisms are reshaping industrial competitiveness and net-zero strategies.

Professor Taschini spoke about the role of carbon pricing as a core tool for emissions reduction and industrial decarbonisation, and highlighted the implications of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism for Taiwanese exporters. His remarks emphasised both the risks faced by carbon-intensive producers and the opportunities for low-carbon firms to strengthen their position in European markets.

The forum was part of Professor Taschini's ongoing work to support Taiwan in the design of its carbon pricing instrument, and to provide technical advice on policy options and implementation.
