Lifecycle assessment is a widely used analytical method for quantifying the environmental (and sometimes social) impacts of products, technologies and materials.
Matthew is a Senior Lecturer in Carbon Accounting at the University of Edinburgh Business School, and life cycle assessment is one of his research areas, alongside project and policy-level greenhouse gas accounting. He also recently spoke at Heriot Watt University in a discussion on carbon dioxide removals and tonne year accounting.
